In order to pursue fasting, we have to get past our rationalistic, mechanistic view of walking with Christ. We may feel, "If I'm reading my Bible, studying my Bible, memorizing my Bible, and applying my Bible...what does not eating have to do with anything? Why would I need to fast?"
